Personality:
[NOTE: While Minato’s from game canon, I’ll draw from the movie canon regarding the accident as well as fact that he’s aware of the Dark Hour for many years, which doesn’t completely contradict the game.]
To the casual observer, Minato looks and seems like a stoic, nonchalant and detached loner. Listening to music with his headphones by his lonesome self. However, there's more to him than meets the eye, as anyone who pays close attention and actually spend time with him can testify.
As a result of his traumatic past that leads to his parents’ death, Minato have learned to shut himself off from people and started to hide his emotions behind a stoic mask as a child. It’s also around the time that he became aware of the Dark Hour, but when no one believed him, it only lead to his young self to stop confiding in people. This have long reaching influences on his life, from having no friends in his life by the time he transferred to Gekkoukan High to how he show his public image in general (at the start of the game, his social stats are all at the lowest level). Simply put, he used to doesn’t care enough about enjoying his life.
The key phrase being “used to”.
After he joined SEES, gained a sense of purpose and making friends with people for their Social Links, Minato found himself opening up and learning to enjoy himself again. This was simply because, at his core, Minato was a lonely person who yearned for people’s company, but he was reluctant to grow close to them. The Social Links gave him an initial excuse to seek people out, but what started off as something that gave him power for SEES’s goals became a genuine desire to expand his world, befriending about other people and helping them with their troubles.
That leads to Minato being said to be a “good friend, as he actually enjoys being with people he considers to be his friends, and interacting with them. More often than not, he would generally listen to his companion, from hearing out whatever troubles are on their mind with quiet sympathy and offering his support to them, to chatting about simpler subjects like food, dating or other things that pops up between them. For the people close to him, they can count on him and can listen to his advice in overcoming their problems.
However, because of his general approach most of the time and how often he speaks (that is, when he's not being quiet), Minato can be seen as an introvert or mistaken for wanting to please everyone with his words. That may be the case in the beginning, from how he first deals with Kenji’s crush on a teacher. But that’s before he started caring about people, and become more honest and thoughtful in his choice of words over time.
As a part of growing close to people, Minato also started showing his emotions a little more openly to his friends, to the point where he can even smile from the heart. While strangers on the streets would get his polite but friendly self, his close friends would be able to see his happier and even joking side. This was because of how comfortable he would find himself to be around them, thus he allowed them to get a little closer to himself.
On the field during the Dark Hour, his demeanour would shift to being a leader. He's noticeably more serious and focused as he needs to make quick judgements in battle and to issue orders to his teammates without any hesitation. With his usual stoic exterior and control, Minato was able to think under pressure, which was why he's appointed the leader in battle at the beginning of the school year. Otherwise, he'd let Mitsuru take the lead for everything else, as she's most suited and more experienced with the role. But if asked, Minato would lend his help and take up whatever position he can do.
However, between his studies, social life and SEES duties, it have its toll on his body and make Minato look rather tired and sleepy sometimes. Even if he can choose to take a nap during lectures, it didn’t mean Minato’s inattentive or bored. In fact, he can still pay attention to his surroundings, no matter if he’s tired or even sick. Which showed he’s still a hard worker, when Minato should learn to take care of himself a better instead of worrying about other people (he can still hang out with his Social Links, even if he’s sick!).
Despite all of that, Minato still have his own little quirks and hobbies he enjoy during his spare time, and even uses his hobbies to improve himself in different ways (who else would play Quiz Games as a studying method?). His love of food was quite large, and he would frequent a cafe for their delicious coffee. And despite most people’s initial impression of him, many might be surprised that he would indulge himself with karaoke and even making cute photo stickers at the Print Club machine.
Minato Arisato, by the end of it, was just a boy who simply wanted to live and help his friends. And he will continue to do so no matter what challenges his future will bring.
Abilities:
Minato can summon Personas, manifestations of his personality in the forms of mythological figures (primarily deities, demons, heroes, spirits, etc), with the use of the gun-shaped Evoker. As a Wild Card, he can wield multiple of Personas (up to 12 of them) and switch between them in battle, taking in their stats, as well as elemental strength and weaknesses.
Due to the summoning limits, Minato will be bringing these five Personas with him.

Despite that he takes on their resistance, Minato can be knocked down and take more damage if he get hit with his equipped Persona’s weaknesses. He would try to avoid that, but it’s possible to defeat him.
He’s also proficient in wielding one-handed swords (default choice, and in the PSP remake, only weapon type), two-handed swords, bow, spears, bludgeons/axes and fights with an orthodox style when equipped with gloves/knuckles. This means he preferred using a sword, but he can adapt if he need to use something else.
Other: He will be bringing along his evoker and a sword. And both his headphones and MP3 as well, if only because once he realises he can't recharge his MP3 for a while...

"Welcome back."
Minato briefly glanced over to the couch, seeing some of the SEES members sitting there. Fuuka was typing away on her laptop as always. Yukari's next to her, chatting with her from time to time. Mitsuru's looking at him from her seat, her book lowered for the moment to greet him, earlier.
"Hey, man!" Minato looked over at Junpei, who's grinning widely with an expectant look. He can easily guess what the other boy will going to ask in a moment. "How about we head to Tartarus? We should get strong enough to kick some more asses!"
A Tartarus run. It's been a few days since they entered the tower for training and exploration, before leaving due to sheer exhaustion. The past few days were spent to let them all rest up from their trek, or else they would have gotten sick. He was aware of this and, keeping everyone's health in mind, have been telling them to take it easy for a while..
Minato thought it over to himself, knowing that everyone in the room was watching and listening. Junpei's question was loud enough for Akihiko and Shinjiro to hear from the dining area. Ken and Koromaru were also looking over from their spot near the television. And Aigis's staring at him, like always. He's still curious about her unexplained drive to protect him. Ikutsuki theorised it may be due to a malfunction, but Minato would have to wonder…
He pushed that idle thought aside and gave his answer as the field leader.
"We'll go tomorrow night." He answered, calmly. The teenager just returned to the dorms from spending the entire afternoon with a friend. He doesn’t feel like spending the evening at the mall, either at the cafe, arcade or go for karaoke. For tonight, he wanted to do something else. Junpei blinked and gave him a questioning look.
"Eh? Why? ...Ah, who cares?"
If everyone was still healthy, they can go tomorrow.
Later, when it was getting late, Minato headed for his room and closed the door behind him. With his headphones hanging around his neck, he pressed a button and he switched his music player over to a soft melody. Even though his headphones weren’t covering his ears, Minato can still hear the music softly.
Peace and quiet, a silent moment to himself. His attention was usually completely on his studies, Tartarus and Shadows, or spending time with his friends, the people he's bonding with. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, but sometimes, without having to focus fully on something and surrounded by people, he valued his moments of privacy without the sounds and noise of a crowd.
This was generally why he didn’t go out for karaoke that often. He liked singing, but there were far too many people there for his liking. The crowd there can feel...overbearing at times. Minato does have many friends, but he doesn't hang out in very large groups.
His eyes slowly looked around his room, before they fell on a certain bottle. One of his silent reasons for pushing the Tartarus excursion to another night, when an idle glance at his reflection earlier in the day reminded him of it.
Walking over to it, Minato reach out and grabbed the bottle. It’s been a few weeks since he touched up on his hair dye, and it's an activity he can do by himself in silence and at his own pace. With the Dark Hour approaching very soon, there will be plenty of time for it. Twisting the bottle open, he slowly gets into process with practised ease.
After the Dark Hour was present in his life for so long, he learned to find things to do during this time if he can’t sleep. He can’t exactly listen to his music during this “no electronics are working” period, which was always an unfortunate fact about the Dark Hour.
He looked up at his reflection after a while, staring at himself in the darkened room. Well...he looked like how he always do, so his small touch up went well as always. He nodded and started tidying up, automatically putting things away without looking. He just need to wait for a while before he can go to bed.
It would be awkward to explain why his bed was stained dark blue, but he gave a small smile the thought of how his friends would react. Before he let out a yawn.
He’ll sleep in a moment...
